“After nourishment, shelter and companionship, stories are the thing we need most in the world.” - Phillip Pullman
Travis is an amateur blogger, stand-up comic, father, husband, fisherman, motivational speaker, computer repairman, and writer. In fact, the only two things he genuinely excels at are eating Mexican food and making his friends laugh. He is best known for a video he made of his hometown's first Christmas Parade and a blog post about tragedy. He had a mildly successful high school basketball career, twice hitting game winning shots, but he doesn’t like to dwell in the past.
Travis is married to the love of his life, and has been since 2003. He and his wife have been featured on "The Tyra Banks Show," and it was this blog that got them there.
In June of 2011, Travis and The Missus adopted two children, Akeeli and Aven, from the state of Oklahoma. The children have been both a great challenge and a great blessing, and Travis has been constantly kept on his toes by this new-fangled thing called "parenting."
This blog has taken many directions, but has finally settled into a spiritually humorous blog intent on making you laugh, but also showing some of the more emotional sides of life. You will laugh, you will cry, and then hopefully you'll come back tomorrow and do it all again.
I'm a husband, father, son, brother, and friend. I teach English and Literature to the youth of today. I love Jesus and my mother, and I'll gladly introduce you to both. I love photography and writing. Duke basketball keeps me occupied for half the year, and hating Chapel Hill keeps me busy the other half. As you can tell from the title of my blog, I like stories. I'm a big guy with a big voice, trying desperately to be heard by someone before The Lord takes me home. Let's be best friends.
